  336. Impute

  to ascribe; to attribute (especially a fault or bad deed) to someone; to charge with

  337. Attribute verb[VN]

  ~ sth to sth to say or believe that sth is the result of a particular thing: She attributes her

  success to hard work and a little luck.

  ~ sth (to sb) to say or believe that sb is responsible for doing sth, especially for saying,

  writing or painting sth: The committee refused to attribute blame without further information.

  ◆ This play is usually attributed to Shakespeare.

  338. Integrate verb

  ~ A and B to combine two or more things so that they work together; to combine with sth else

  ~ (sb) (into / with sth) to become or make sb become accepted as a member of a social

  group, especially when they come from a different culture: [V] They have not made any effort

  to integrate with the local community. [also VN]

  339. Deceive verb

  [VN]~ sb (into doing sth) to make sb believe sth that is not true: Her husband had been

  deceiving her for years. ◆ She deceived him into handing over all his savings.

  ~ yourself to refuse to admit to yourself that sth unpleasant is true: [VN] You're deceiving

  yourself if you think he'll change his mind. [also VN that]

  340. Conspire verb

  [V]~ (with sb) (against sb)

  ~ (together) to secretly plan with other people to do sth illegal or harmful: They were accused

  of conspiring against the king. ◆ They deny conspiring together to smuggle drugs. ◆ She

  admitted conspiring with her lover to murder her husband.

  ~ against sb/sth

  ~ to do sth (written) (of events) to seem to work together to make sth bad happen: [V]
