　　511. Distract verb

　　[VN] ~ sb/sth (from sth) to take sb's attention away from what they are trying to do: You're

　　distracting me from my work. ◆ Don't talk to her-she's very easily distracted. ◆ It was

　　another attempt to distract attention from the truth.

　　distracting adjective: distracting thoughts ◆ a distracting noise

　　512. Harass verb[VN]

　　[often passive]to annoy or worry sb by putting pressure on them or saying or doing

　　unpleasant things to them: He has complained of being harassed by the police. ◆ She claims

　　she has been sexually harassed at work.

　　to make repeated attacks on an enemy

　　513. Disarrange verb[VN][usually passive](formal) to make sth untidy

　　514. Derange VERB:

　　1.To make insane:

　　craze , madden, unbalance, unhinge.

　　See SANE.

　　2.To put out of proper order:

　　disarrange, disarray , disorder , disorganize, disrupt, disturb , jumble , mess up , mix up , muddle,

　　tumble , unsettle, upset.

　　See ORDER.

　　3.To disturb the health or physiological functioning of:

　　disorder , turn, unsettle , upset.

　　See HEALTH.

　　515. Vex verb

　　[VN] (old-fashioned or formal) to annoy or worry sb: The memory of their conversation still

　　vexed him.

　　vexing adjective: a vexing problem / question ◆ I found their attitude extremely vexing.
