　　The author argues that the film processing industry has learned how to do things better and reduced the cost of a 3-by-5 inch print, and Olympics Foods will likewise enjoy the same cost reduction and thus maximize profits. The author also cites that Olympics Foods has been in the industry for twenty-five years and the long experience will automatically enable them to be more efficient. At first glance, the author's conclusion seems somewhat convincing, but further reflections reflect several logic flaws.

　　First of all, it is highly doubtful that simply because film processing industry has been able to improve its efficiency, food industry would as well be able to do soThe differences between the two clearly outweighs the similarities, therefore making the analogy less valid. For instance, timely transportation. contamination and process temperature control all affect the food quality and thus the cost of handling in food processing industry, but these requirements are virtually absent in film processing industry. Accordingly, without further evidence, the author can not validate that Olympic Foods will enjoy the similar improved efficiency and increase profit.

　　Additionally, the author assumes that merely because Olympic Foods has been twenty-five years old, it has naturally gained experience and learned how to do things better. There is, however, no guarantee that this is the case. It is entirely possible that it has learned nothing at all during the past twenty-five years. For example, the company may have not aggressively pursued technology advancement in food processing, making their processes less efficient and more costly. Being in the industry for 25 years does not automatically grant the company experience for them to do things better.

　　The author’s conclusion is not compelling as it stands. To strengthen the argument, the author would need to draw examples from a similar industry to demonstrate that food industry will also likely enjoy the improved efficiency. Furthermore, the author should provide more evidence that Olympic Foods has actually learned something during the past twenty-five years to allow them to become more efficient.
