　　选项分析

　　A is the best，fish的复数可以是fish或fishes

　　B、D、E，unlike比较对象不匹配

　　C，which就近指代monkfish错误

　　考点

　　比较对象的对等，本题又一次验证了ETS喜欢同位语的原则。(呵呵，多不好意思，人家一次又一次地告诉我们同位语结构简洁清楚。)

　　对于插入结构的敏感性可以帮助我们快速读题，快速掌握句子的最基本意思。

　　这里出现there be +抽象名词正确的情况，所以一定要注意there be+抽象名词是有效性错误。5个选项都有，那没有办法，有选项不用there be那一般就对

　　A. Correct;monkfish单复数同型(见补充说明)，their指代monkfish;there be句型的平行要补出there be。

　　B. unlike的两个对象不可比(size v.s. monkfish)，且放在中间，易产生修饰歧义;depleting them是主动语态，可是动作发出者又不明，错误;用because引导的原因状语从句来表示方式太过于累赘。

　　C. which不能指代一句话;应该用their来指代monkfish，因为monkfish前面没有冠词，所以是复数。

　　D. unlike比较双方不可比;its指代复数名词monkfish错误;by不如through好;being overfished修饰了contributes与contributes的逻辑主语which，不合理。

　　E. Unlike比较双方不可比;前面there be句型是主系表结构，所以后面contributing不能表示伴随结构，而是作为形容词修饰前面的名词catching monkfish;用because引导的原因状语从句来表示方式太过于累赘。

　　1.COMMA + ABSTRACT NOUN is allowed to stand for the ENTIRE IDEA OF THE PRECEDING CLAUSE.

　　--> here, "a strategy" (an ABSTRACT noun) stands for the WHOLE IDEA of putting 5 receivers on the line.

　　in this case, "findings" (an abstract noun) stands for the WHOLE IDEA of observing large concentrations of blah blah blah.

　　on the other hand,

　　2.COMMA + CONCRETE NOUN usually stands for the DIRECTLY PRECEDING NOUN. 如果是comma+具体名词，那就是指代前面出现过的这个词

　　compare:

　　(1)i went to the bar with john smith, a consultant in los angeles.

　　here, "a consultant" (a CONCRETE noun) refers ONLY to "john smith" (the preceding noun).

　　(2)i went to the bar with john smith, an excursion that was much more fun than working all night.

　　here, "an excursion" (an ABSTRACT noun) stands for the WHOLE IDEA of going to the bar with john smith.
